Original paintings by Jim White
For more than fifty years I have explored the landscapes of Western Canada—canoeing quiet northern rivers, hiking mountain trails, and spending long days observing the changing light across forests, lakes, and prairie skies. These experiences provide the inspiration for my paintings.
Working primarily in acrylic on panel and canvas, I focus on capturing the atmosphere and depth of the Canadian wilderness. Many of my paintings are created from memory rather than direct reference, allowing me to simplify the scene and concentrate on the feeling of being immersed in the landscape.
My work reflects a lifelong connection to the land and the quiet moments that often go unnoticed: morning light filtering through a stand of aspens, storm clouds moving across the prairie, or the stillness of a northern lake after rain.

Discover original Canadian landscape art inspired by the Rockies, the boreal forest, and the prairies. My paintings capture the grandeur of snow-capped mountains, the mystery of northern forests, and the quiet freedom of prairie skies. Each work goes beyond scenery to reflect the emotion of the land, light, color, and the timeless beauty of Canada’s wilderness.
